  • a virtual reality music video called ‘fabulous wonder.land’

  • ‘cat face’ facial recognition screens

  • a ‘walk-in wonder.land’ green-screen experience

  • an avatar builder

I was responsible for designing UI elements as well as assisting in art direction, alongside concept development of the various digital experiences.

wonder.land look and feel developed by 59 Productions.

fabulous wonder.land

A virtual reality music video inspired by wonder.land, the National Theatre’s musical created by Damon Albarn, Moira Buffini and Rufus Norris.

Built for Oculus Rift and Cardboard, the 3.5 minute experience transports the user into the National Theatre’s vibrant reimagining of Lewis Carol’s Alice's Adventures in Wonderland which sees them falling down a swirling rabbit hole before landing in a bizarre and alien garden. Here they are serenaded by a colossal grinning Cheshire Cat who sings Damon Albarn’s fabulous from the musical.

The Oculus Rift experience formed a core component of enter wonder.land, an interactive exhibition at the National Theatre lobby.

fabulous wonder.land was an official selection for New Frontier at Sundance in 2016.

The cardboard version of the app is available to download on iOS and Android for free.

Fabulous wonder.land was one of the earliest public VR experiences in the UK, initially presented on the Oculus DK2. Audiences experienced the VR work sitting on toilets styled like the toilet block seen in the production.

The exhibition contained a wall of screens which replaced visitors face’s with a Cheshire Cat face from the production. Users were able to capture a cat face selfie and then share it by email.

Walk in Wonder.land

A Kinect experience which allowed upto 6 users to become immersed in Wonder.land. The experience cut out users from a green screen background and then allowed them play and interact with various plants to generate a range of exciting sound effects.
